Alabang-Binan jeepney drivers continue to be defiant of LTRFB fare reduction orders and are still collecting fares from passengers based on December 14, 2014 fare matrix. For the record, the LTFRB have already issued two provisional fare reduction orders reducing minimum jeepney fare from P8.50 to P7.50 to the current rate of P7.00.
I rarely commute from Alabang to San Pedro and I can tolerate the P1.00 (first reduction order) overcharging by these drivers in exchange for peace of mine during the short, 7-kilometer trip. (Mamumumura ka pa pag nagreklamo ka).
It became obvious to me, however, that these drivers do not intend to follow LTFRB's order anytime soon when I commuted from San Pedro, Laguna to Festival Mall yesterday and was charged with the same, guess what, Dec 14, 2014 rate!
Based on the old fare matrix, regular fare from Alabang to San Pedro (Caltex Nueva) is P13.00. After two fare reduction orders, the fare should have been P11.50 by now. I'm not even sure if other commuters are aware of this but it seems that no one has bothered to call LTFRB's attention because the overcharging continues to this day.
Aba, fellow commuters, ilang buwan na tayong pinagmumukhang tanga ng mga drivers na ito!
And you know how they're able to pull the trick on us hapless and helpess commuers? Wala kasing fare matrix ang mga jeepney na bumibyahe sa rutang ito!
Siguro naman, by this time, dapat magrequire na ang LTFRB na maglagay ng UPDATED FARE MATRIX ang mga drivers dahil kawawa ang mga pasaherong nagrereklamo, nakakarining lang ng mga salitang ni hindi nila narinig sa mga magulang nila! Kung may nakasabit na fare matrix sa jeep, wala nang marami pang usapan. Gaano po ba kahirap maglabas ng bagong fare matrix? I-outsource nyo na lang kung nahihirapan kayo.
To LTFRB, please conduct a surveillance on drivers plying this route, protektahan nyo naman ang mga commuters.
